With extensive experience in the field, Dr. Gretchen Heinsen and Dr. Alejandro Pereda specialize in delivering excellent endodontic (root canal) care for our patients.
When a tooth becomes damaged or infected, a root canal may be necessary to save it. While we can only see the hard layers of the tooth surface, underneath lies the pulp of the tooth. This pulp contains nerves, tissue, and blood vessels. During tooth development, the pulp helps teeth grow. Therefore, when the pulp becomes infected, a root canal is performed to remove the pulp of the tooth to relieve pain.
In order to relieve the sensitivity and pain from the infected pulp, our team will remove the dental pulp and the infection using the latest technology known as GentleWave®.
With the GentleWave® System, we provide minimally invasive root canal procedures. It is designed to be gentle and it is scientifically proven to clean the pulp and canals of the teeth better. That means your root canal will last longer.
Depending on the tooth, a root canal typically takes 60 to 90 minutes.
Much like any dental procedure, you will be numb for a few hours afterwards. Usually you can return to work or school following a root canal procedure.
Feel free to contact us about the cost. For your convenience, we accept dental insurance, Care Credit, and all major credit cards.
